The table is a generalisation. Specific features and prices change, so check them on the platforms' official pages.

Wix

Strengths: very easy, visual editor, everything in one place (hosting, templates, tools). A good choice when you need a simple site quickly and without technical help.

Weaknesses: the monthly fee lasts as long as the site is online. Moving the whole site to another environment is hard, so you are tied to the platform. Speed and technical SEO are more limited than on a separately built site. Design stays within templates.

Fits: business cards for very small companies, hobby projects, short-term campaigns.

WordPress

Strengths: open source, a huge choice of themes and plugins, great for blogs and content management, WooCommerce for shops. The site is yours and can be hosted anywhere.

Weaknesses: needs maintenance: updates, backups and security. Speed depends heavily on the theme and plugins, and too many plugins make a site slow and vulnerable. Customising the design may require a developer.

Fits: content-rich sites, blogs, companies that have their own administrator or a maintenance contract.

Tilda

Strengths: attractive ready-made blocks, very quick landing page creation, easy to use even for designers.

Weaknesses: best for simple pages. More complex functionality (user accounts, complicated shop logic, integrations) is limited. Monthly fee and platform lock-in.

Fits: sales pages, campaign sites, small business cards.

Voog

Strengths: a cloud website platform developed in Estonia, multilingual support is built in, simple content management with no hosting to worry about.

Weaknesses: less freedom in design and functionality than WordPress or a custom build. Monthly fee.

Fits: small businesses that want a simple multilingual site on a locally developed platform.

Webflow and hand-written code

Strengths: full design freedom, clean and fast code, maximum control over speed and SEO. A hand-written site doesn't depend on a platform subscription and is yours.

Weaknesses: needs a specialist. Editing content is usually harder than in a builder unless there is a separate CMS.

Fits: businesses whose website is the main sales channel and where speed, design and discoverability matter. Our own website is built this way and scores 100 / 100 / 100 / 100 in Google Lighthouse on desktop (mobile: performance 93+, the rest 100), which you can check yourself on PageSpeed Insights.

How to choose: 5 questions

  1. Is the website your main sales channel? If so, speed, design and SEO matter. Look at WordPress, Webflow or a custom build.
  2. How much will you edit content yourself? If often, you need simple content management (WordPress, Voog, a builder).
  3. How big is your growth plan? If you plan a shop, multiple languages or integrations, choose a platform that can grow with that.
  4. What is the total cost over 2–3 years? Count subscription, hosting, plugins, maintenance and your own time, not just the initial price. See also website cost in Estonia 2026.
  5. Can you move the site later? Portability matters if you don't want to be locked into a platform.

Moving from Wix or another builder to a new site

If you already have a Wix, Tilda or other builder site and want to move, keep in mind:

  • The content has to be brought into the new system. The whole site often can't be exported.
  • Old addresses must be redirected to the new ones with 301 redirects so your Google rankings don't disappear.
  • Check speed, SEO tags and mobile layout before and after the move.
  • Keep the domain in your own name and switch DNS only once the new site is ready.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better: Wix or WordPress?

Wix is easier and quicker to start with, WordPress is more flexible and yours. For most growing businesses WordPress is the more flexible option; for a very simple business card, Wix may be enough.

Is Tilda suitable for an Estonian business?

Yes, for sales pages and simple sites. For more complex needs (user accounts, integrations) it is worth looking at other solutions.

Can a Wix site be moved to WordPress later?

Not with one click. The content has to be brought into the new system and the old addresses redirected with 301 redirects so SEO doesn't suffer.

What is the best platform for SEO?

No platform guarantees rankings. Fast loading, correct structure and good content matter more than the platform. WordPress, Webflow and hand-written code give the most technical control.

How much does ordering a site cost compared with a builder?

A builder looks cheaper at first, but the monthly fee and your own time add up. Our prices start at €490 for a fixed scope. See the pricing page.
